Rapid City

Rapid City must be a very special place because Presidents come here and they come here as ordinary citizens. In fact we saw many of our former Presidents just standing on the street corners, image               waving to passer bys, image     getting a newspaper, image stopping to collect their thoughtsimage and jotting them down.image Yes Presidents come here by way of bronze statues and they are beautifully done. It was fun driving around Rapid City trying to find them.

Another thing we found was the Stavkirk Church, The Chapel in the Hills.image image  This church is a replica of an 850 year old church in Borgund, Norway. It has such intricate wood carvings,  image            ornate dragon heads, and shingle work.image Seeing this all wood chapel that sits atop a hill over looking a valley surrounded by tall pines and flowers was a lovely way to end our evening sightseeing. image
