Up at 4:15 am to get ready to go our separate ways. Erica, by plane back to the East and Tommy and I will continue on to the North towards Oregon. I sure am going to miss Erica. It will give us something to look forward to, seeing each other again in a few months.
We stopped in Leggett, CA home of the drive thru tree so we could take Hooptie on an adventure. She was getting jealous and wanted to do something just for her. The “Chandelier” drive thru tree is 315 feet tall, with a diameter of 21 feet, and is approximately 2400 years old. I think that calls for a WOW!
Driving north with came upon Confusion Hill which is similar to Mystery Spot that Erica and I went to a few days ago and had so much fun at. Since Tommy wasn’t there he wanted to experience this for himself. He had a blast. Gives you a weird feeling watching water roll up hill and being able to stand on a sharp angle without falling.
A few miles past Confusion Hill brought us to the Avenue of the Giants. A 32 mile, 53,000 acre state park, Humbolt Redwood State Park, of which 17,000 acres are Giant Redwoods. Some of these trees are over 2000 years old. They were here when Jesus was alive! A-Maze-Ing! Once again we are in awe of what this country has to offer.
