I believe in the Christmas spirit and it is alive and well here in the North Pole. People here are so friendly and look at what their census is. Reindeer, with their velvety antlers, are loosing their winter coats. I was able to feel the antlers and it really does feel like velvet. Santa has his home here and even wanted to talk to us big girls. The picture of Santa’s house was taken at 1:30 am, that is about as dark as it gets right now. The streets have special names and are lined with candy canes for street lights. There really is an actual North Pole here. This pole was dropped from an airplane at the geographic North Pole in 1951, the pole was not found until 1972, and then erected here in 1976. Even the Senior Center is cute, as well as the visitor center. Notice the sod covered roof. That was the traditional way to roof your home. There are homes from the original homestead that are still being lived in now and one is being used as a radio station. This is how you would store your food and keep it safe from animals way back then. Yes, friends the North Pole is an adorable little town and I want to remind you that:
