Up, Up, and Away

I was up at 3:47 am (whoops I was up an hour to early) to drive out to the east most point in the park, Desert View, to see the sunrise. We jumped from Desert View image to Navajo Point, image to Lipan Pointimage to see the canyon at various locations in different early morning lights. So different in the sunrise than the sunset. Both equally breathtaking.

Now we are off the the Grand Canyon Airportimage to catch a 50 minute flight on a 10 passenger Cessna plane around and through the Canyon. We opted for the plane verses a helicopter because the helicopter ride was 15 minutes and the plane ride was three times as long for the same money. image Wow! Spectacular. Smooth flight, informative Captain.A little cloudy so the canyon isn’t “popping”.image image

image We are seeing one of the Seven Wonders of the World by air! Yea!

A little lunch and we are off for more hiking and then some souvenir hunting. The time today has flown by. It was already time  to pick our spot to see our last Grand Canyon sunset for this trip.image image Everyone should see the Grand Canyon at least once in their lifetime.  Pictures, again, cannot let you see the grandeur and magnificence of this special place. And to think it’s here in our own back yard, the USA.

  1. Things are easing up here, so back to the Monday night movie via Tracy and Tommy. The pictures get more beautiful each time, with the exception of Grand Canyon. God must have been in a fantastic mood when he did it. I can only imagine what its like in person. The wonder makes you speechless. Your so lucky to be making this trip, way to go Tom.........I;m a little jealous. Also, may I say the photographer is A-one. Keep up the good work. PS, John recognized Belguim Jennys right away. Thats where we met.
