We Survived!

We survived last night. It was cold but what a difference several hours can make. Bright sun, clear skies.

We had to back track a little since at times there are no direct routes leading from here to there. I have to admit my ignorance. On the East coast roads are everywhere, miss a turn, no problem. There are dozens of ways to get anywhere. Not here! There may only be two paved roads, one north of an area and one south or one east of the area and one west and not another one for 100 miles. That floors me. You may want to travel 30 miles as the crow flies and you have to travel 80 to 100 miles to get there! There are dirt roads that cut through but you can’t take a RV on them. You could get stuck or not be able to turn a big rig around. image

Do you see where there are no roads in big sections and this is just a small section of UT

We traveled through Mexican Hat , image

the Valley of the Gods, image and Monument Valley image to Page, AZ.

We stopped at Walmart to bone up on groceries and to purchase oil to do an oil change. We have traveled 3000 miles since we began this trip. Tommy did the oil change right there in the parking lot. Walmart was nice enough to take the dirty oil and put it in for recycling. I can’t believe I did not take a picture of Tommy doing the oil change in the parking lot. Sorry, I was slacking. We are staying at Page/Lake Powell RV resort for a few days. Looking forward to seeing the area sights. Today is going to be a rest day for Tommy. Yesterday took a toll.
